The BYPASS system is designed for two sliding door panels that run on parallel tracks. The panels slide alternately, one behind the other, allowing them to occupy significantly less wall space when open than a traditional pair of bi-parting sliding doors. This is a practical solution wherever the room layout or limited wall space prevents the installation of a conventional sliding door system.
In the BYPASS system, each door panel runs on its own track. The inner track is positioned closer to the wall, while the outer track sits in front of it, allowing the panels to pass each other smoothly and stack one behind the other on the same side of the opening when fully open. This design can reduce the side wall space required by up to 50% compared to a standard double sliding door system.
The system is available in two mounting options:
-- Wall-mounted BYPASS – the tracks are fixed to the wall using dedicated wall brackets. Ideal for standard door openings with a suitable lintel.
-- Ceiling-mounted BYPASS – both tracks are fixed directly to the ceiling. Perfect for openings that extend to the ceiling or where wall mounting is not possible.
-- When there is not enough wall space on either side of the opening for two door panels to slide apart in opposite directions.
-- For walk-in wardrobes, alcoves and built-in storage where convenient access to the entire space is required without needing to leave clearance for traditional hinged doors.
-- For wide openings between rooms.
The BYPASS system is available with 2 or 4 door panels.
-- 2 panels – the most popular configuration for standard door openings, walk-in wardrobes and alcoves. Each panel runs on its own track and when opened, both panels line up one behind the other.
-- 4 panels – designed for extra-wide openings and as room dividers. Two panels run on each of the two tracks, allowing large openings to be closed while maintaining a compact sliding arrangement.
